Tea Time

Last week, it rained for four days straight. I kept doodling little dragons staying cozy and warm in their little forest nooks. I made a completed sketch but didn’t like any of the rainy day color palettes I generated in Procreate. So sunny day tea time with a friend is where I ended up.

I ended up scrapping the work that I didn’t like and just letting the drawing and painting process take me in a direction. It’s the first time I’ve felt like the drawing was drawing itself, that I was participating in a dialogue with my idea, rather than just dictating the conversation. I’m hoping the next piece brings more of that dialogue because I really enjoyed it.
