Quick Thin Crust Pizza

A quick easy pizza crust for big and little dragons. Some fave pizzas are: asparagus, ham, tomatoes and a raw egg dropped into the center of a pizza with no cheese; loads of pepperoni and mushrooms for the meat lovers; and green olives and ham for the salt lovers

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 tsp active yeast
  • 3/4 cup of warm water
  • 1 tsp of honey
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil
  • Pizza sauce
  • Toppings of choice

Preparation

  1. Turn on the oven light and set oven temperature to warm.
  2. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in honey and set aside.
  3. Combine flour and salt in a bowl. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until dough just starts to hold together.
  4. Roll dough into a ball and dust with flour. Place inside a bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Set covered bowl inside the oven. Turn the oven off but leave the light on.
  5. Remove from oven when dough ball doubles in size (about 45 minutes). Divide into 4 smaller balls. With your fingertips, flatten and tap out dough into shape on a pizza pan or cookie sheet.
  6. Preheat the oven to 425° F. Top with your favorite sauce, cheese, and toppings. Bake 14-20 minutes until crust in browned and middle is crispy.
  7. Let cool slightly, slice, and enjoy!
