Quick Thin Crust Pizza
A quick easy pizza crust for big and little dragons. Some fave pizzas are: asparagus, ham, tomatoes and a raw egg dropped into the center of a pizza with no cheese; loads of pepperoni and mushrooms for the meat lovers; and green olives and ham for the salt lovers
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 tsp active yeast
- 3/4 cup of warm water
- 1 tsp of honey
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp of olive oil
- Pizza sauce
- Toppings of choice
Preparation
- Turn on the oven light and set oven temperature to warm.
- Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in honey and set aside.
- Combine flour and salt in a bowl. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until dough just starts to hold together.
- Roll dough into a ball and dust with flour. Place inside a bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Set covered bowl inside the oven. Turn the oven off but leave the light on.
- Remove from oven when dough ball doubles in size (about 45 minutes). Divide into 4 smaller balls. With your fingertips, flatten and tap out dough into shape on a pizza pan or cookie sheet.
- Preheat the oven to 425° F. Top with your favorite sauce, cheese, and toppings. Bake 14-20 minutes until crust in browned and middle is crispy.
- Let cool slightly, slice, and enjoy!
Notes
Makes enough pizza dough for 2 10″ pizzas and 2 8″ pizzas
